“Call of the Owl” is a first edition paperback book written by Mary Bethel Hawkins. This autobiography of Appalachian life in Kanawha County West Virginia explores themes of life in West Virginia beginning in the 1930s, with a regional/local dialect adding to the narrative. Published by Revolutionary Insights Publishing in 2025, the book is aimed at young adults and adults interested in a personal account of God’s protection and guidance. It is a 229mm height and 152mm length, with 726g of weight, making it a substantial read for those seeking inspirational insights and realist perspectives on faith and community. This is my late Mother in Law’s autobiography and was published by her son, my husband William (Bill) Hawkins. Excellent and compelling read!
