This is an antique FARM ACCOUNTING Ledger book with quite a few advertisements from merchants in the front of the ledger for towns such as Columbia, Mount Joy, Marietta, Elizabethtown and Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The ledger book is as new but dates to about 1917 – see photos for more information. The book references tax code from 1917 – this is the most recent date I can find so likely this is World War One era. This is a complete looseleaf farm accounting book that has never been used and was stored well and survived all these years – over 100. A terrific piece of farming history as well as history of the Lancaster area. Incredibly rare find. It is heavy weighing nearly five pounds.
