Born in 1936 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, William Christenberry is recognized as an artist, photographer, teacher and arts advocate. “William Christenberry: Disappearing Places”. Friend of many photographer-contemporaries such as Lee Friedlander, Walker Evans, and William Eggleston, it was indeed William Christenberry who inspired Eggleston to begin shooting in color.
